What was the challenge?
To document a plant's electronic infrastructure without gaps, technicians photograph each component on site. The photos are often taken in poor light inside control cabinets, surrounded by parts that look almost identical. Labels are usually tiny and hard to read. Matching these images against the correct components from many different OEM databases was slow and error prone.
With nyris we automated this evaluation step and took a heavy load off our staff. We started at a recognition rate of 63 percent. After roughly a year we already reach an overall hit rate of 78 percent, and that covers every incoming request, including parts the system does not yet know. This shows the leverage of an AI adapted to one specific domain.
The time saving is especially striking. Effort per component fell from 20 seconds on average to just 4 seconds. nyris makes the matching more accurate and highly efficient.
